Being a Female, What is your Clothing Style?

One of the most controversial forms of artwork is street graffiti. It has been prevalent since centuries and has matured and refined over the years. It was used by the Romans as a sign of protest and criticism against their rulers. Street graffiti is still a common way of expressing political and satirical remarks on the walls of both public and private property. But conversely, it is also considered as a devious and notorious form of art as it exploits and harasses public and private possessions.

As graphic designers, graffiti is always an inspiration point as it helps in learning new and innovative ways of expressing feelings and emotions in the form of art. This technique of artwork has swiftly crept into the field of design including logo design as well. Today, I have collected a fresh compilation of 22 street graffiti artworks that will leave you amazed. I personally enjoyed each and every one of them thoroughly and hope that you will also like them.

Hi, love these graffiti-ed works. Can you perhaps tell us where they are from? I know most are Banksy’s but where can they be found? Thanks!

Great collection. I tend to enjoy the simpler examples like numbers 1,2,7, and 22. The others are too colorful and distracting in my opinion.

A great collection of inspiration material.
Graffiti has always had a stigma attached to it and has been seen as a renegade art form. In recent years it has crossed over into mainstream culture and has become a more accepted means of artistic expression. I believe that graphic designers can take inspiration from graffiti, both in technique and skills but also the integrity and message behind their work.

I don’t know if #17 can be considered “graffiti” per se…I’m pretty sure that the Tate Modern commissioned that.

Street art is one of my favorite. Artists used free-hand aerosol paints to make their works really amazing! This can also be a form of advertising and very entertaining too.

There are some REALLY creative and well executed ideas out there. And it’s interesting how ‘the street’ seems to be the birthing ground for lots of innovative directions in art and creative expression.

Graffiti is really profound when it’s done well. I enjoy the cultural references of graffiti – the Here’s Johnny one is really fun – but they’re also a bit aggressive and in-your-face, and I like that too.
Mostly because lots of advertising pretends not to be aggressive but is, I like that graffiti pretends to be aggressive but isn’t
