Being a Female, What is your Clothing Style?

Duties of A Graphic Designer in 2013

If you are a professional in your work then you’d be known for it. You’d have a name which everyone will inspire and believe that no other could come and compete with you. Professionalism doesn’t just come with a day’s time in work. In fact, it is something a person achieves working day and night over a number of years. Professionals are created by two things namely the experience and studies.

A plane pilot risks the lives of hundreds throughout the flight. But what is it that he/she is willing to take that risk? It’s the confidence and trust in work. A pilot is one who has flown thousands of miles and has learnt lessons for a greater number of years before becoming a professional. Similarly a dentist is a practitioner of his work because he has the right skills, education and experience to perform the job perfectly.

Coming to graphic designers, they are also professionals of their work.

What they do?

What they do?

• They are known for their creativity in developing visual concepts either through hand or by software.

• They are the best communicators of ideas because without this ability they cannot succeed.

• They have to convince the consumers through their designs hence have to be good speakers as well.

• They are the trend setters of an organization.

• They help businesses select color themes, logo design which are the key elements used in adverting and marketing of products.

Let’s get into more detail to know their work in the year 2013.

Let’s get into

1. Graphic designers have to make use of technology to make designs as per requirements of the clients. Thus they combine art with technology to create and forward them to the potential people. They may convey their ideas through images or different layouts. Different design elements might be used by these practitioners to make decorative and creative designs.

2. Apart from designing, these professionals also give different suggestions and advices to their clients. These ideas are mostly about how to cover a specific audience, how to develop advertising strategies etc.

3. Every design has a message. That message is essential while marketing products. A design which is without a message will not be successful in attracting people. So one typical job of a graphic designer is to determine the message his design should portray. For this, they might take help from the clients or business practitioners.

4. These professionals make use of both images and text in their work. The font, type, color, everything is determined by them. Even the headings, text and headlines are decided by them. They also have to choose how both the text and design would go with each other. If the design required by the client is a layout, then they would consult writers because they choose words and see if to write them in list or paragraph.

5. Sometimes the design does not match requirements of client. Then it is forwarded back to design practitioner who reviews and slot in changes suggested by the customers in the final design.

6. Sometimes it so happens that even after the final design has been approved by the client, some error remains. For this, it is essential for a designer to review it before giving it to be printed or published.

I am in the printing world and I have worked with hundreds of graphic designers over the past 25 years and I can say without a doubt, that they are some of the most creative and hardworking people I know.
If you stop what you are doing right now, take a look at your environment, you will see that you are surrounded by items that have been designed by a graphic designer.

So, the next time you run into a graphic designer, say thank you.

Who says graphic design is an easy job? Only the ungrateful clients will have this kind of perception. I feel sorry for them.
