Being a Female, What is your Clothing Style?

Although brands are meant to be renowned and famous but there are some drawbacks to fame. When you are on top of the ladder, you are the center of attraction. Therefore, each and every step of famous brands is under immense scrutiny. Especially, if they make any mistake, it is graciously exposed and hyped by people and media. So when you’re a famous brand, it’s hard to get away with errors. The recent rebranding mistake made by GAP is a perfect example.

Lately, I came across few horrible mistakes committed by famous brands in their marketing and advertising campaigns. Call them grammatical mistakes or simple blunders, these promotion errors are horribly funny and hilarious to read. If you remember, once I collected weird Photoshop mistakes for you guys and you all thoroughly enjoyed looking at those bloopers.

So, this time I bring you 12 of the funniest mistakes made by famous brands in their marketing and advertising campaigns:

Superman Costume

On an American Airlines packet of nuts: INSTRUCTIONS – OPEN PACKET, EAT NUTS.

Really??? I would have never guessed it!!! :-p

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)

The KFC slogan ‘finger-lickin’ good’ on a Chinese campaign became “eat your fingers off”.

My condolence to the people of China!! :-D

Fritos

On a packet of Fritos crisps – YOU COULD BE A WINNER! NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. DETAILS INSIDE.

Ok, let me get my X-Ray Vision glasses and see inside!

Marks and Spencer

Label on a Marks & Spencer’s Bread Pudding – PRODUCT WILL BE HOT AFTER HEATING.

I don’t believe it…Let me try! :-P

Pepsi

Pepsi’s marketing campaign slogan in Taiwan translated “Come Alive with the Pepsi Generation” to “Pepsi will bring your ancestors back from the dead.”

Thank God I drink Coke! :-p

Sainsbury

On a Sainsbury peanut packet – WARNING: CONTAINS NUTS.

What only NUTS?? I want the PEAS too!! :-D

Sears

On a Sears hairdryer – DO NOT USE WHILE SLEEPING.

Lucky I didn’t doze off while drying my hair this morning! :-P

Rowenta Iron

Do not iron clothes on body – on packaging for a Rowenta iron.

I thought it was easier that way! :-P

Tesco

Written on bottom of Tesco’s Tiramisu dessert box – DO NOT TURN UPSIDE DOWN.

Too late…you lose:-D

Coors

Coors the American brewer’s slogan “Turn It Loose” came out in Spanish as “Get Diarrhea”.

In that case, I think I’ll pass!! :D

Superman Costume

Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly – on a child’s Superman costume.

Way to crush a childhood fantasy guys! :-D

Japanese Food Processor

Not to be used for any other purpose – on a Japanese Food Processor.

Hmmm… now I’m curious ;)

I hope you enjoyed reading these hilarious mistakes and slight humor added by me ;) Do tell me which ones did you think were funniest?

Sadly, they have to put most of those on there to avoid lawsuits (“Warning- Coffee may be hot” anyone?)

My favorite was on a Korean kitchen-butcher-type knife. “Warning, do not keep in children”

Its true, many of these are simply not mistakes, they are the result of the overly litigious world that we live in combined with the heavy handed Health and Safety laws in Europe.

However its still amusing, keep up the good work.

I am laughing so hard I can hardly type….wow. Coors and Pepsi were my favorite. Marketing in other languages can be tricky. Always a good idea to have someone well versed in the native tongue proof read. Thanks for the reminder and the laugh.

These remind me of the lawsuit to McDonald’s a few years back about that lady who spilled hot coffee on her, and blamed McDonald’s because the cup wasn’t labeled as “hot”. Lol. Stupid people.

Pretty funny. But yes sadly many of these are to keep frivolous lawsuits at bay.

One that is not a famous brand though thought you would enjoy. On the cover of a trade magazine for waterparks, it was supposed to say Public Pools on the cover for an article in the magazine, typo though it went to press with the letter “L” missing from the word “Public” on the cover.

Hahahahahaha! These were brilliant! Can’t believe that some brands wouldn’t think as far.. Really makes me wonder sometimes.. especially the Tesco’s Tiramisu dessert box where the instruction was at the bottom of the pack..

The real problem is that ‘common sense’ really isn’t that ‘common’!!! Hence the ‘legal’ writings on food, beverage and household appliances packages.
it’s not the brands’ faults, it’s the consumers’! they either get dumber with years, or they’re just craftier and waste huge amounts of time spotting ‘legal loopholes’ to take advantage of!

    seriously pple.

When Ford went into Latin America with their popular car the Ford Nova, they kept the name because of the possibility of having some brand recognition. What they didnt realize was that in Spanish NO-VA meant NO GO. They were trying to sell a car that had the name NO GO…needless to say it did not take the market by storm.

I love the Coors light! Ha ha ha ha. There could be some truth in it if you drink far to much of it!!! Lol!
Is it not ironic that a small child costumes has a warning on it about not being able to fly when they probably can not read it yet?

I Bought a Pedi Paw for my dog and laughed when looking at the warning labeled which in bold red letters stated “Do Not insert into any bodily orifices”
You know some one had to do it for them to put the label on it! (pretty gross!)

I can’t get over how people can get away suing for some of the things they Sue for!
Do you really have to put a warning contains nuts on a package of nuts??
