Graphic Design Blog revamped

 
Hey folks! I proudly welcome you all to witness the transformation of graphicdesignblog.org from the all colorful facade to the eternal black and white theme. The earlier vibrant and colorful theme has hung on successfully since January 2009 and has been admired by many of our visitors. But I kind of got bored with the old theme. So, I decided to go for the “Black and White” theme…unquestionably, an eternal combination with evident grace. I strongly believe, this will certainly give Graphic Design Blog (GDB) a neater appearance and a more pleasant feel.

Moreover, GDB plans to come up with a better approach to serve its readers. Hence a new look will complement the new strategy in providing more entertainment. After the successful launch of our “Logo Design Gallery”, GDB plans to launch another new section for its readers, “Submit your Portfolios”. This will allow graphic designers to share their portfolios with the design community and make a rigorous impact.

Lastly, I want to take the opportunity to thank all the readers who have been continually following GDB since its inception. In order to provide manifold entertainment to our devoted readers, GDB team has adopted revamped strategy, and this redesign is just the beginning. Hope you guys like the new redesign. Please continue enriching us with your thoughts and suggestions on improving graphicdesignblog.org. The entire GDB team is dedicated to provide its readers with a relishing experience and your endless support is the key to it.

    Looks great, although i opt forstronger contrasts, atleast somewhere. And the menu is a bit boring imo.

    Just as an the architecture of an art gallery should compliment the art; a design blog should compliment it’s content… new template is great!

    @Emil…I agree with you about using a stronger color at few spots…already working on it. However, amazed to know you didn’t like the menu :( Any suggestions on how to improve the navigation bar?

    @Manz…thanks for appreciating the new theme buddy. I really wanted to know your views and was waiting for you to stop by :) Any suggestions for final touch ups?

    Good work. I like the new theme, but I also think that you have to do something with navigation. Maybe add some hover effect…

    Beside that everything looks great!

    I kind of liked the old one better. But it’s really not going to stop me from reading every single post you have here. And I’m soooo excited about the “submit your portofolio”. It’s a great idea..

    I love the new clean-cut design, it’s very slick and refreshing. It just seems as though it’s missing something, maybe some color?. Awesome revamp nonetheless!

    The US Graphic Designers tab is really a handy tool. Whether for businesses or other consumers who need to hire a graphic designer or for graphic designers who are able to work, this feature is a valuable resource. And it looks like there are many listed, even some for small local areas, which is helpful for those small town businesses who need a design for brochure printing. Thanks for hosting this!

    I really liked the old theme, but this one has a faster loading time…*sigh*…curse you practicality! :P

    But anyways, I really like this site ever since I first discovered it, I’m a Graphic Design student and this site has given me so many AWESOME resources and it’s always my first port of call during my assignments. Thanks and keep up the great work ^^

    Hi Charlie,
    I just found your blog and I’d like to add my 2 cents to your question about the navigation bar (above). Why not consolidate some of the related headings under a single heading named, “Logo Design”? You then can put “Free Logo Design” and “Logo Design Gallery” into a dropdown and clean up some of the clutter on the menu bar.

    BTW, I am not a graphic designer but I have done a lot of content development for the web.
