45 Most Creative Blog Designs from blogosphere - Let’s get inspired!!

Charlie B. Johnson Comments  30

Belonging to this amazing world of blogging, we all keep on discovering new blogs every day. However, there are millions of blogs on net but only few of them are exclusively creative and deserve a second look.

In today’s date having a nice blog design is no big achievement (thanks to WordPress Themes) but only few of us succeed to be creative with the design! After all, this imaginative approach makes a blog different and unique. Here I want to accept openly that no matter how good our blog content is, but if the blog design is sloppy, you will miss your potential readers.

I feel no shame in accepting that a professional looking blog design insists me the most to stay on that particular blog/website and check what it has to offer. So, today I decided to share some impressive blog designs from net which have the potential to convert one time visitors into long-run subscribers easily.

I have collected 40 remarkable blog designs in three categories – Dark, Colorful, Grunge and Stylish Blog Designs. Let’s get inspired…

This is a great collection of blogs! The thing i love most about designing a blog site is that you have almost completely free reign to go wild with your design. That definitely shows with this collection

Ron Hicks’ blog is based on a free Wordpress theme called Irresistible (http://woothemes.com/demo/?t=25).

DuirwaighElf | July 25th, 2009 at 5:14 pm

Thanks so much for featuring our site!

BTW There is a small typo in the text link which was obviously copied over from smashing magazine… :-)
Our site name spells “Duirwaigh Studios”

The collection of examples is quite enjoyable.

Roh has the exact same design as cheth Studios. Is it a template or are they affiliated…. or something else?

These certainly top the blogs I typically see.
Dark, Colorful, Grunge and Stylish: great categories.
I write a fiction blog and lately the writerly blogs, not necessarily fiction but all ones where the style lies in the sentences, have adopted a business-like look–a stripped-down, strict magazine-style template.
I’ve thought maybe I should update mine and fall in line. So it cheered me to see these. Mine isn’t spectacular-looking: the prose will always be and should be the main attraction. But it nonetheless looks individual–suggestive of who I am and what I write.
Certainly it could use an update, but I just did that six months ago, and seeing these, I’ll stick with it longer.
I don’t do Twitter, offer or comment on news. I write stories and that’s what I think it looks like.

I’m jealous! These are really great designed blogs! I’ve seen similar work from this Web Design Company and I’m trying really hard to learn how to do the same. I think I’ve come up with a few good ones, the next step is trying to code it all so it really works!

Cam | July 29th, 2009 at 2:54 pm

every time i think i’ve “seen them all” in best of lists somebody surprises me! good list!

aussiewebgirl | July 29th, 2009 at 7:25 pm

Inspiring designs…

I wish I had the know-how to design a site like one of these. My favorite is the From the Couch blog with the multicolored TV background. (Not sure what it is exactly, but definitely recognizable. Is it an emergency message warning? No service? I have no idea lol.) Second place in my book goes to Kulturbanause.de because the cliffs and trees seem to jump off the screen at me. The crumbling title area that reveals the mountain background is pretty neat too.

Well, funny to read that as I was wondering if - as a copywriter - I would not rather make something very sober, white, clean, without any mark of any graphic design.

Well, maybe the best way might be to keep a website and a blog, so both can give you different results ?

Some very nice stuff here particularly I’m fond of the grunge design work myself. Even if my own stuff leans toward being clean!

designstd | August 9th, 2009 at 4:02 am

Very inspiring and very nice, the best that caught my soul is Kulturbanause.de WOW !!!!

Alex | August 21st, 2009 at 6:54 am

What can I say! These themes are really inspiring!
The only one thing that’s missing is the unique icons. I really like stunning web 2.0 and pixel icons. So my recipe is to mash-up these themes with pro icons!
Good luck!

I loved the list. It was very good and interesting. Thank you for sharing, I am looking forward to seeing more.

Great selection of top blog designs, they are very inspiring. I like dark grungy designs, like on my own site, but many clean designs are really great too.
