Photoshop Blunders in Advertising Designs:

1) Dust Jeans – Let’s Hold Hands: The tagline suggests the gesture of holding hands but unfortunately the person, to whom other hand belongs, is missing in the picture.

2) Tiger Woods in Washington Post: The image shows a clear blunder with Phil Mickelson is standing in front of Tiger Woods and both players looking in opposite direction for the same ball.

3) Garnier: On a closer look of this Garnier Hair Color ad you will notice that the lady is not holding the cherries and the hands are shopped in.
4) Torchwood: The image is a clear blunder as both hands are either right or left.
5) Pepsi Photoshop cans: The reflection is off. It should be straight-down parallel with the can, but actually leans forward.

6) Lexar 8GB: The reflection of the SD card has "4GB" as the memory, not 8GB like in the picture.

7) Azoogle: You can easily witness that the “Big Amount” check has been shopped in, as the check is missing in the reflection of car and man’s shadow.
8 ) Braking The Cycle:
The back wheel of the cycle is half gone but a failed attempt has been made to make it appear as a complete cycle.

9) Unwigged & Unplugged: Two hands on the guy’s shoulders, both belong to the guy on the right somehow.

10) Paris-Match: You can only see the legs of a man behind Sawkozy who was later chopped out from the picture.
11) StarGate: An additional lady face has been shopped on the right end.
12) INFDaily: I don’t think I need to point out an additional hand at Beyonce’s back.

Well done spotting all the Photoshop design mistakes. It takes and eagle eye!

Thanks for sharing. A lot of wonders and blunders here. :)

  1. Manz On September 24th, 2009 at 6:02 pm

You certainly had me asking myself “WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THEY THINKING!?”

I can even see the reasoning behind some – like “Unwigged & Unplugged” – I imagine they couldn’t find a group photo they all liked of themselves, so some poor designer was asked to combine 2 photos and didn’t have a clue how to remove the extra hand! Or just over looked it! Shocking!!

Thanks… you provided me with my morning laugh!

I don’t see anything wrong with the Torchwood image honestly, top hand’s pinky is right next to the bottom hand’s thumb which anyone can accomplish by putting your hands on top of one another palms down.

  1. BIG! On September 25th, 2009 at 8:29 am

Not that it matters but the picture of Tiger and Phil wasn’t a mistake but an optical illusion. It was discussed in the comments of the picture and had links to the photographer that took it with the other photos he took at the same time.
The picture of Beyonce is also just a weird angle. When you see the other photos that go with that you can see her backup dancers are wearing the same outfit and cause it to look like an extra hand because of the angle. It was also discussed in the photo comments.
And finally, the picture from Spinal Tap’s website(Unwigged & Unplugged) is under debate as to if it’s really bad photoshop or just their humor based on their fake band.

I must say that if You have not highlighted those mistakes I would of never even noticed them..

How someone said earlier must have an Eagle Eye to spot them..

I think it takes great ability to make even those with the errors… I suck @ photoshop!

I liked the blunders best – amusing to see the things that were missed.
Must say, however, that some of the wonders truly impressed me with their creativity.
    Natural Mineral Water – Watermelon,
GreenPeace and the Ad for Toronto World Cup were among my favorites.

  1. zoe On September 29th, 2009 at 9:53 am

I really like the photoshop images, the ones that are bad are really bad and it amazes me that these weren’t picked up on before they were published. But the good photoshop images are really good high quality images.

I definitely do believe Photoshop is not an easy tool to master but if these have been modified using the software, the jobs needed a second eye. Loved the wonders section, actually enjoyed each piece because the message in those ads were not only memorable, but some of them also had a simple, clean, and to the point message.

These were great — both the blunders and wonders! The talent (and carelessness) out there is amazing.

  1. BlindAcreMedia On October 1st, 2009 at 2:53 pm

These are very well done. I can’t believe some of the ‘mishaps’ on the first ads.

  1. Don Elliott On October 2nd, 2009 at 10:19 pm

This is an entire list of good reasons not to rush a designer! Some of those mistakes are AMAZING.

On the wonders though, the yoga one is a bit disturbing….

    Nice collection.

I had to look at the PS3 ad for a minute because at first I thought it was a blunder! It took me a minute to get the point: the ninja was so fast, the guy’s reflection hasn’t caught up yet. Heh.

The “hands” blunders are killing! )))

  1. AP On December 11th, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Some mistakes were obvious, like the hands but some others like the “Street Gear” and “Azule” were so hidden that it took me a while to find without the description of the mistake. Excellent job!

  1. Pikkewyn On June 10th, 2010 at 10:21 pm

I wonder about the carrot scorpion one. Is it really Photoshopped? To me it looks like actual food art.
