Being a Female, What is your Clothing Style?

Business Card 1

A graphic designer’s talent is gauged by the graphic designing he does for his own identity. The works that he creates for his own personal use are a basis for determining his creative skills and competence. Graphic designers business cards, logos and web design all exemplify how inventive and resourceful a designer actually is. They bear testimonial to the creative instincts possessed by a graphic designer.

Although the advent of social media has made business meetings for graphic designers an online ordeal, the need for face-to-face acquaintance with clients is essential in building a strong and prosperous relationship. A business card is a useful promotional tool for graphic designers to spread their identity. The more creative the business card, the better your impression on the clients. Since your first impression is the last impression, it is imperative that you effectively exhibit your creativity through your business card.

Some of these are really great and unique. I always say…you’re first impression is important, but you’re business card is what makes them remember it.

These are a really nice collection. My favourites are Ammar Ceker and Niki Brown. I really like the idea of the business card being like a present or a letter in its own envelope. I think thats a really nice touch.

How much are people spending on getting these cards printed. My business cards have my name and logo laser cut out of them (luckily I know someone with a laser cutter, so it was free to make). The cost for this practically is extortionate.

I try to look at these kind of costs as investing in my future?

Brilliant cards. Especially the Kraken Design one. The texture is awesome. Looks expensive but i guess that’s money well spent.

Oooh, I really like the Hidden Creative business card. With the first two letters white on black and the rest of the letters black on black, most of the word is hidden — very clever and memorable. Business cards have to have something that makes them stick in people’s minds. Aaron M. Lock’s business card printing is memorable because of the tag lines — “Photoshop Ninja” indeed.

I love the “Hidden” card. It’s quite simple, but easily let out the sense “hidden”. Great job. It inspires me most. Thanks!

Interesting set! Sometimes people forget how important is the phisical contact with the business card… material and finishing plays such an important part in the so-called first impression. That’s why some of this cards, being mock-ups are lacking an actual presence, in my modest opinion.
I especially enjoy creative resolutions such as the see-through one made in vegetal papel or similar.

What is this? Those are totally average business cards.

    Seriously?

Most are mediocre and some of these are just bad….even for a non-graphic designer.

and whats with all the generic responses?

Anyone with a hacked version of CS5 and a Wacom Bamboo is a “graphic designer” nowadays….

I really like the vertical designs on this post. They cause a disruption in the way the reader processes the information even if only having to do a 1/4 turn to read. Great stuff!

I reviewed the business cards and they are amazing. Now, my next question is, do any of you talented designers have ready made for sale or would you take a small job with resume design. I am entering into a new stage in my career and need a very well laid out resume. I’m also going to do a mini web site after the resume. I have been in sales and marketing for 20 years, but I’m pursuing a position that is going to require me to target the high tech start up markets. For that, I really need something to stand out. I have the credentials.

If you do not provide this, do you know of any web sites with well designed, not just your ordinary resume? Thanks, Maureen Hartnett

These cards are obnoxious, for the most part. Just a lot of shallow style… no great graphic design here.
