Personally, I am not a fan of logosnap. In my opinion, it’s sites like this that not only take work away from designers, but also create a plethora of cheap clip-art type logos. Yes, they may look more professional than a lot of logos out there, but just because someone can make a few clicks of a mouse does not make them a designer. Also, can you imagine how many companies could end up with basically identical logos this way?

As a LOGO DESIGNER myself, I can honestly say that websites like this do NOT take away business from designers or logo artists. Why? Simply because those that want to spend ZERO (or close to it) will always find sites like this and opt for anything but a logo that they’ve paid for.

Secondly — this “article” has obviously been written by someone (Charlie B. Johnson) who has a personal stake in LogoSnap.com.

What exactly IS an “exclusively professional logo” anyway? And what about the line, “undoubtedly, getting a perfect logo design is an exhilarating task because we fail to convey our exact requirements to the designers.” Exhilarating? People feel exhilarated because they can’t explain themselves??

The best line is at the end: “so guys what harm trying this free logo design service…..let’s give it a try.” Yeah, guys! What harm trying!?

I’ve got now problem with the service, thats just the market place and the state of the industry. I don’t think that you’ll get the service or the quality that you’d get from a professional designer. I agree with Chad some really poor marketing BS in this advertorial, you’re doing more damage to this site’s reputation and credability posting this if indeed is written by someone with a vested interest.

None of the logos in the gallery are going to set the world alight or be memorable.

This kind of service is useful for people who would not otherwise pay for a logo anyway. To get good logo you need to spend hundreds of dollars and few days of time, what if you’re creating a disposable website and you need a quick logo for it and you dont care if it looks professional or not?

People that are going to use a site like this for an actual logo (one that is going to represent their business) might as well just stick to the Microsoft Office clipart gallery.

Don’t worry guys, you’re not going to lose business to a site like this. People that are satisfied with logos that generic, that ugly, aren’t going to be the type of customers you want anyway.

I can tell you, that you guys are right, LogoSnap isn’t for all companies, and that hiring a professional graphic designer will USUALLY provide better results. however, for many small businesses out there who are trying to get off the ground, spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a logo isn’t feasible. So, LogoSnap.com helps them get started. It’s free- so hard to complain about the price.

Hey All…The negative response I have received about "FREE" service of Logosnap.com,tells that you have perceived wrong impact of this service. @CHAD B….I think you are deeply annoyed on checking this free service but have you ever considered small business owners or people who just want a logo for a temporary fund raising program or charity show. They don’t need to go to top-notch designers and spend thousands of dollars. @ JONATHAN…logosnap.com is here to help those who are already cash trapped due to recession but want to uplift their new businesses without using big amount of money on their brand identity. @ Todd..It it is a wrong impact that logos picked up from such sites are generic and fail to capture potential clients. @ Joe Witte….very simply this man behind LogoSnap.com explains you all that this platform is not meant for all types of companies and businesses.

Just hold my friends…there is something more I want to say to all my logo/graphic designer friends. You all keep telling me that it really upsets you to find a graphic designer(that’s me),supporting such free logo services. Don’t you think we have become too selfish, just thinking about ourselves and our earnings.

Everyone aims to have a memorable logo, so what harm is there if we bring some helpful resources like logosnap.com for all types of business owners.

It’s their money, so let them decide where and how to spend it. Everyone is free to decide if they want their logo to be designed for free or to spend hundreds/thousands of dollars for their brand identity.

I understand the point behind logosnap from a business perspective, but I believe it cheapens our industry and lowers the bar. More power to them in their business endeavors, but I won’t support something like that.

However, I am glad you posted this nonetheless. It’s good for us to know what’s out there. I agree that this isn’t going to take away business. In fact it may even be a gateway for companies to finally jump the gap and hire a designer. But I wish the post hadn’t ‘sung it’s praises’ so much. It left a slightly sour taste in my mouth…

Yes it’s free but I find it in poor taste.

They really want you to pay for it. Instead of gracefully asking for a donation and giving the option not to donate at this time, they (unsuccessfully) try to make you feel guilty for not paying when they advertise it as free!

I did a test logo, tried to check out and was greeted with - “No, Ill just take my free logo, and let your kids starve” as the option.

Get some class!
